Privacy Policy

This policy describes what personal data baccarat.global collects, how it's used, and what rights you have in relation to your data. It applies to all users of the baccarat.global website and related services.

The data controller is the company that operates baccarat.global. For queries about this policy or your data rights, contact privacy@baccarat.global.

What we collect

Email address: if you subscribe to the baccarat.global newsletter or email updates, we collect your email address. This is the only directly identifying information we collect for standard users. Email addresses are not shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

Telegram ID: if you connect your Telegram account to use the Ask Bea chat feature, we store your Telegram ID to enable that service. We don't collect or store Telegram message content beyond what's necessary to process your query and provide a response.

Progress data: your lesson progress and quiz results are stored in your browser's localStorage. This data doesn't leave your device unless you create an account and choose to sync progress. If you don't have an account, no progress data is transmitted to our servers.

Analytics: we collect anonymised analytics data about page visits, session duration, and general usage patterns. This data doesn't include personally identifying information. We don't use advertising tracking pixels or third-party advertising scripts. Analytics data is used solely to understand how the school is being used and to improve the content.

Cookies: we use a minimal set of cookies required for the site to function (session cookies). We don't use tracking cookies for advertising purposes. A cookie notice is displayed on your first visit.

How we use your data

Email addresses are used to send the newsletter or updates you subscribed to. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send. On unsubscribing, your email address is removed from our mailing list immediately.

Telegram IDs are used only to route responses to Ask Bea queries back to the correct user. They're not used for any other purpose.

Analytics data is used in aggregate to understand content performance and user behaviour on the site. It's not used to build individual user profiles.

Retention

Email addresses on the newsletter list are retained while the subscription is active. On unsubscribe, the address is removed immediately. Email addresses associated with inactive accounts (accounts with no login or activity for 12 months) are deleted unless the user has an active subscription.

Telegram IDs are retained while the service connection is active. Disconnecting your Telegram account removes the stored ID.

Analytics data is retained in aggregate form. Individual session records, to the extent any are stored, are not retained beyond 90 days.

Your rights

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

Right of access: you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

Right to rectification: you can request that inaccurate data is corrected.

Right to erasure: you can request that your personal data is deleted. We'll fulfil this request within 30 days of receipt, subject to any legal obligations that require us to retain specific data.

Right to restriction: you can request that we restrict the processing of your data in certain circumstances.

Right to object: you can object to our processing of your personal data on grounds relating to your particular situation.

Right to portability: you can request a copy of your data in a portable format.

To exercise any of these rights, contact privacy@baccarat.global. We'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Third-party services

We don't sell personal data to third parties. We may use third-party services for email delivery (the newsletter service provider) and analytics. These services are selected for their GDPR compliance. A full list of current third-party processors is available on request from privacy@baccarat.global.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we'll notify newsletter subscribers by email and post a notice on the site. The date of the most recent update is shown at the foot of this page.
